Atlas VMS Acquires CloseClear.ai to Extend AIM-Port into Continuous Collateral Risk Monitoring

MIAMI; Sept. 8, 2026 – Atlas VMS, a leading valuation and mortgage solutions company providing modern appraisal and technology platforms, today announced the acquisition of CloseClear.ai, an early-stage platform that continuously monitors active mortgage loan pipelines against live federal disaster data to flag GSE repurchase risk.
CloseClear.ai matches loans against federally declared disaster areas at the ZIP and county level, with map-level precision where available, aligned to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac guidelines. This enables CloseClear.ai to uncover exposure that changes after a loan has already cleared appraisal: a blind spot most lenders currently catch only once, at closing.
“CloseClear.ai closes a real gap for our lenders. Disaster exposure doesn’t stop being a risk just because the appraisal is done,” said Erik Morin, CEO of Atlas VMS. “Pairing it with AIM-Port lets us monitor that risk continuously and act on it automatically, at a scale this technology couldn’t reach on its own.”
CloseClear.ai was founded by mortgage industry veteran Christopher Russow, who has an existing business relationship with Atlas VMS leadership. The acquisition was evaluated and approved on the strategic and technical merits of the platform.
Beyond its initial disaster-monitoring use case, CloseClear.ai’s underlying technology will serve as the foundation for additional product lines within AIM-Port. Atlas said the first new product line planned on CloseClear.ai's technology will be Flood Zone Determinations, bringing property-level flood zone identification into AIM-Port alongside appraisal workflows, backed by CloseClear.ai's nationwide flood map database and its state-by-state accuracy certification program. Atlas expects to announce availability, coverage, and pricing in the coming months.
The acquisition of CloseClear.ai is Atlas’s second platform purchase following its 2025 acquisition of AIM-Port, the appraisal order management system now built into the operational core of Atlas’s valuation business. It also follows an impressive year of growth for Atlas, which included the acquisition last month of First Appraisal Management and a 2026 Tech Titan Award win by Progress in Lending.
“Atlas’s success in our third year is a reflection of the team we’ve built and the strategy we’ve put in place from day one,” added Morin. “We’re building a valuation and mortgage services company rooted in best-in-class technology, operational expertise and strong local relationships. The addition of CloseClear.ai gives us new capabilities and reach while keeping our focus where it belongs—making the valuation and mortgage process better for lenders, appraisers and borrowers.”
CloseClear.ai will continue to operate as a standalone product for its own customers, preserving its current brand and go-to-market approach, while Atlas separately integrates its monitoring capability into AIM-Port as a premium tier for Atlas’s existing lender and AMC customer base. The company intends to share further details on CloseClear.ai’s pricing, availability, AIM-Port integration timeline, and planned product-line expansions in the coming months.
